Our ‘100 point seller assessed condition report’ enables buyers to have as much information at their finger-tips as quickly as possible.

The easy, step-by-step online consignment process only takes a few minutes to complete. We require you to complete your details to create a Bonhams MPH client account, the details of the vehicle you wish to sell and your honest opinion on the condition of the major components from 1 – 5; upload some photographs; and your thoughts of a reserve price, should you wish to place one on the vehicle. One of our highly experienced team will then be in contact to discuss the vehicle, finalise the auction estimates and finalise any reserve price. We’re then ready to confirm entry of your motor car into the auction. Entry fees can be paid before or after the sale so there's nothing to pay upfront.

Our Charges

Entry Fees:

An entry fee is charged on all lots consigned, depending upon your required level of profile and preparation. There are three levels for Motorcars: Bronze, Silver or Gold.

What does your entry fee get you?

The Bronze package is our entry level fee, costing £125 + VAT. You will need to provide pictures suitable for use in the printed and online catalogues. Your lot will have a shared-page inclusion in the printed catalogue as well as fully featured on the online catalogue.

The Silver package is the next level, £175 + VAT. As Bronze but your lot will have a half-page presentation in the printed catalogue.

The Gold package is the full-package at £300 + VAT. We will either visit you to assist with the consignment process and take photos (up to 100 mile radius of Bicester); or you can come along to one of our photography days at Bicester Heritage where our professional photographers will studio shoot your car. At least one-page in the printed catalogue (as well as online), plus professionally valeted upon delivery to the auction venue by Showcase Valeting Service.

Vendor Commission

To sell your car with Bonhams MPH the rate is 5% + VAT (minimum £350 + VAT for Motor cars and £175 + VAT for Motorcycles). Payment is made to you 14 days after the auction by BACS transfer, subject to Bonhams MPH receiving cleared funds from the buyer.

Buyer Premium

12.5% + VAT. Like all Collectors’ Motor Car and Motorcycle auctioneers, we charge a Buyer’s Premium. This fee is paid by the buyer and is calculated on the hammer selling price.

Valuation and Photography days

Bonhams MPH Valuation and Photography days are usually set to coincide with the Bicester Heritage Sunday Scramble events. Simply bring your car along to The MPH Club at The Guard House, Bicester Heritage where one of our Team will be able to discuss the car with you and place it into the most suitable auction. The process to sell your car is very quick and easy and can either be done ahead of your visit, or completed with you in person.

Our professional photographer will be on site to ensure the best images are taken to show your car in the very best light to interested bidders.

We will be conducting valuations from 10am - 2pm.

Condition Report

The automated 100-point condition report is formulated by information supplied by the Seller at the point of consignment. These conditions are not authenticated by Bonhams MPH and so Customers (Bidders) are strongly recommended to view the car prior to the Lot being offered.

1/5       POOR. A project vehicle | Requires urgent attention | Damaged | Parts missing
2/5       AVERAGE. Useable condition | Requires some attention | Light damage
3/5       GOOD. Drive away | Presents well | Good history file | Drives well
4/5       VERY GOOD. Well restored | Running and driving with no noticeable faults | Sound throughout
5/5       EXCELLENT. Concours condition | Beautifully presented | Driving very well

Your vehicle is required on-site at the Bicester Heritage two days ahead of the sale date. A couple of weeks before you will receive final delivery instructions and other information along with the printed catalogue. We ask that your vehicle is in ‘sale ready’ condition when delivered to the sale hanger (unless you have chosen the Gold Package entry option) and prior to public viewing. Upon arrival you will be met by the specialist handling your consignment process who will give you an update on the sale.

Should you require transportation assistance with delivery of your vehicle to the auction, our preferred carriers, E M Rogers, will be able to help you.

Auction day

All our Clients are most welcome to attend the auction -  and we encourage you to do so. You will be able to enjoy the unique atmosphere and excitement of the drive-through sale – all of which is designed to achieve the best possible result for you.

Whether you can or cannot attend the auction in person, your consigning specialist will be on the phone with you to provide you updates throughout the viewing days and auction build up.

The net proceeds from the sale are paid to you 14 days after the auction date, subject to Bonhams MPH having received cleared funds from the buyer. The seller’s commission will be deducted from the hammer price, in addition to any outstanding charges.
